      The Federal University, Lafia, has informed that it has produced 21 First Class graduates among the 419 students who graduated from the institution between 2015 and 2016.
      The institution disclosed this to newsmen on Saturday through its Public Relations Officer, (PRO) Abubakar Ibrahim.
      Ibrahim said the first set of students that graduated in 2015 had six First Class students, while the second set that graduated in 2016 had 15.
      He explained that the University has so far graduated two sets of students from the faculties of Arts, Science and Social Sciences, adding that the management of the University has concluded plans to establish more faculties and introduce new programmes.
      According to him, “plans are underway to establish the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Medical Sciences and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) programme in the next academic session.

      “The Nasarawa State Government has already made commitment to donate Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, to serve as the teaching hospital to the University,” he added.
      The PRO also disclosed that work has been concluded on the hostel facilities with the capacity to accommodate 2,000 students, saying they were ready to be put to use by the next academic session.
